At this workshop, the founder and maker behind Bread X Butta, Lynsey Ayala, will lead you through the process of creating your own uniquely marbled paper, silk scarves and hats. Marbling is an ancient process of mixing gels with inks to transform into a unique design that is vibrant and colorful.

With all of the materials provided, you will learn how to formulate a few pieces of marbled paper, followed by your own beautiful silk scarf. Lynsey will take you through a step by step process of mixing the right colors to use on your pieces. You will be exposed to the incredibly unique and one-of-a-kind patterns that will be created, leaving you with enough knowledge to walk away and tell the story behind your very own piece, from the history to your own marbling experience. You will leave this workshop with 1 marbled silk scarf and some marbled paper.

About the Designer:

Brooklyn based designer, Lynsey has always been art history buff + an artist. With the culmination of both worlds, she has found her home in creating BreadxButta. Her goal is to fuse her passion for Art History, the need for constant change and creation, in addition to her love for fashion. You can see this come alive in her clothing and apparel lines, where the foundation is rooted in the ancient art form of marbling. In addition, her jewelry line reflects the same fusion of her passions,  mixing the scientific and mystical meanings behind crystals that she works with.  A stylish maker by nature, her interests range far and wide.  And keep your eyes peeled for what she has coming next.
